VanaMini 3

We've completely rebuilt the application from the ground up. Everything has been rebuilt and retooled to make it much lighter, and easier to combine features. We've also added a bunch of new features, with more planned to come soon! So keep an eye out.

New Interface

As part of the software re-write, the user interface got overhauled. Every button, every map, every view has been retooled. They layout and functionality stayed pretty much the same, but every area has been shown some love and attention.

In-App Help

We've added an in-application, online help section. And since it's online, we can update it on the fly. This lets us adjust to the feedback we get, and try and provide the best information for you.

The help section also gives you the ability to send us feedback, or let us know that you want to help translate VanaMini into another language.

New Features

Along with most of the older features returning, we've added a few new things to check out. Things like maps, a new today view, new city views, and dynamis item drops. You can find out more information about them from the list to the left.

New in 3.2 (Coming Soon!)

Here's some of the new things to look for in the upcoming 3.2 update

Multitasking support - VanaMini now picks up where you left it when switching applications.

Retina Display support - Updated graphics to take advantage of the new hi-res screens

Local notifications - Leave the application on any of the detail pages, and you can receieve notifications for upcoming events like ship arrival and departures

AF Collecting - You can now "collect" which AF you have and keep track of what you still need to get

Abyssea maps - Added the maps and mob locations for the new areas

Today

We've gotten a lot of requests for some way to see what the upcoming days are, information about the day, and more details on the moon phase. So here it is!

Get information about the current day such as start and stop time for the day, current moon phase and percent, Marble Bridge affiliation for the day, and a countdown to Conquest talley.

What lurks behind...

Perhaps the most important parts of this feature aren't even visible at first. Tapping on the moon or day will reveal much more detailed information.

Day Viewer

Tapping on the day name will reveal the all new day viewer. This will show you information about today, tomorrow, the next day, etc. Not only will it show you real world start and stop times for the day, but the moon phase, opposing element, and the next 5 dates that in-game day occurs.

Moon Viewer

Tapping the moon will pop in the all new moon viewer. Complete with current moon phase and percent, countdown to next full/new moon, and the next 4 scheduled times for each.

Access anywhere

Don't want to waste one of the 4 customizable tab slots in the application with the today view? No problem. Both the Day and Moon viewers are available anywhere inside the application where you see the standard VanaMini clock bar. Tap it's sun/moon icon or the date next to it to directly access both views.

Oldie but goodie

One of the staple features of VanaMini has always been the airships. And we're happy to say it's back, and with some new integration features.

Integration

The airship details page can now link directly to the destination city to quickly view Guild times, or connecting flights in Jeuno. Likewise you can jump directly to the airship details from any of the City Hub views or the Jeuno departures view.

Should there be no destination details page, you will be presented with the map for that area

Alerts

The airship detail view features audio alerts for when ships dock and depart. These alerts can be toggled on and off while in any detail view - airships, ferries, or guilds. Simply tap the status bar under the map to toggle it. If you don't care for the alerts at all, it can be disabled globally via the application settings in the Settings App on the home screen.

New to 3.2, when you exit the app while viewing the airship details page, you'll now recieve notifications for the upcoming arrivals and departures.*

To use this new feature, make sure alerts are enabled (the status button is blue) and simply exit the application.

*Requires iOS 4.0+

Craft Guilds

Craft alot? Need to know if your guild is open or closed? No problem.

We built the crafting overview and detail pages just for you.

Get an at-a-glance overview of all the guild's statuses, or select a guild to get more detailed information about it.

It's in the details

The guild detail pages give you a map of the guild headquarters, current status of the guild, the guildmaster name, and open/close times with real world countdowns.

We've even highlighted on the map with a dot where the guild headquarters is. It'll change color when it's open or closed, as well as display a popup when it opens. If that's not enough to grab your attention, it features alert sounds for when it opens and closes. Just leave the view open, and it'll chime when something changes.

Shop around

The guild detail views not only give you the guildmaster name and shop open/close times, but also a complete list of merchants for your guild around the world.

Alerts

Just like it's airship and ferry brothers, the guild detail view features alerts for guild open and close status changes. These alerts can be toggled on and off while in any detail view - airships, ferries, or guilds. Simply tap the status bar under the map to toggle it. If you don't care for the alerts at all, it can be disabled globally via the application settings in the Settings App on the home screen.

New to 3.2, when you exit the app while viewing the guild details page, you'll now recieve notifications for the upcoming shop opening and closing.*

To use this new feature, make sure alerts are enabled (the status button is blue) and simply exit the application.

*Requires iOS 4.0+

Maps

The much requested feature is making it's debut in VanaMini 3. There is a complete list of zones built right in.

Selecting a zone for the first time will cause VanaMini to download the map data from our server to your device. After that it's stored locally on your device, no more need for an internet connection.

Multiple map areas are stacked, and you can flip through the maps to find the section you need.

Integration

The map viewer has been integrated into most of the features in VanaMini 3 with more integration on the way.

NM Spawns

Notorious monster spawn points can be toggled on and off for maps. The map button in the viewer will light up and allow you to display the overlay where appropriate.

Bulk download

Don't want to download the maps you need area by area? You got it. At the bottom of the map list is a Download All option. This will fetch all the area maps off our server in one shot allowing you go go offline, or just save time later.

Customization

Want to host your own maps? Want to edit the maps to include extra information for your linkshell or personal use? We got you covered. Head over to the download section to grab the map pack and checkout the instructions on how to get this setup.

With VanaMini 3.2, you can access the map files directly with iTunes. Simply check out the file sharing section to retrieve the maps if you want to customize them for yourself

*Requires iOS 4.0+

Ferry

Need to catch the ferry from Selbina to Mhaura to go fishing? Traveling to Whitegate by boat? Heading out to Nashmau for Einherjar? No problem. Just pop over to the Ferry view and select the boat you need. You'll find arrival and departure times with countdowns to both.

See where you are

Both the ferry and airship views offer maps with current boat positions.

See the tracking dot move along with the boat's location. Instantly tell where the boat is along it's path.

VanaMini is the only companion application to have this feature!

Alerts

The ferry detail view features audio alerts for when ships dock and depart. These alerts can be toggled on and off while in any detail view - airships, ferries, or guilds. Simply tap the status bar under the map to toggle it. If you don't care for the alerts at all, it can be disabled globally via the application settings in the Settings App on the home screen.

New to 3.2, when you exit the app while viewing the ferry details page, you'll now recieve notifications for the upcoming arrivals and departures.*

To use this new feature, make sure alerts are enabled (the status button is blue) and simply exit the application.

*Requires iOS 4.0+

Cities

VanaMini 2 brought the Port Jeuno connection view. Now VanaMini 3 brings the other 3 nations their own views.

Not only is the Jeuno view still available, but now there are seperate views for each city, highlighting the departure schedule for it's airship, guild times, and access to maps specificially for that area.

Jeuno

Returning again, the Jeuno view offers countdowns to the airship departures from Port Jeuno. Great for anyone that spends alot of time in Jeuno and needs to travel out to Kazham or one of the nations, or anyone that needs to catch a connecting flight.

Start here

These new city "hubs" allow you to jump directly to guild times, full maps, and airship details, all without having to dig around. It's perfect for crafters that spend most of their time in one city.

We thought there were usefull enough to deserve their own tabs. So like most other features in VanaMini, all 4 city views can be rearranged into the bottom tab bar of the application.

Race Specific Gear

There comes a time in every adventure's young life where they can choose to embark on the quests to retrieve gear specific to their chosen race. This is often times referred to as just RSE. It's designed most times to balance the shortcomings of the player's race and balance your stats.

Should you be embarking on this journey, we have you covered.

See what's going on

The RSE feature allows you to see what gear is currently available. Also, you can choose to enter your character's race in the editor window to also display the next couple RSE event times specifically for you.

Tab alert

There's also an extra option you can use to allow you to be alerted in application any time the your RSE is currently available. By turning the option on, no matter where the RSE view is located in the application, you will see a pop up on the tab bar at the bottom.

Strange Apparatus

Burried deep throughout the stretches of Vana'diel are mysterious ancient machines known to adventurers as "Strange Apparatus". These machines lie hidden away behind fake walls, often never to be found.

The code generator takes your character name, and calculates your access code to input into the machine's console to elevate you to "doctor" status. This status yeilds you better loot results when using the machine.

This view supplies you with the code and element associated with each of the "strange apparatus" machines located in Vana'diel.

Just for you

The code generator needs your character name. In fact, the first time you select the feature it will ask you for your name. At any time you want to change it, simply hit the edit button at the top right, and enter a new name. Easy as that.

Connected

Tapping any of the areas on the list will take you directly to the maps for that zone. Get your code, find the machine.

Dynamis

We admit it. We got tired of looking up dynamis loot drops for zones every week. So tired infact that we decided to build the list into VanaMini. It's all there. Go and check it out!

However you want it

You'll find the drop lists broken down by area, and by job. Check all drops for an area, or find out where your job's gear drops. It's in there however you want to look for it.

Item viewer

We even built in a simple item viewer so you can check the stats on each piece of equipment.

In 3.2, we added a AF collection system. No more digging around in inventory screens to see if you've already snagged it. There's even a new section called "My Collection" that shows you everything you have.
